Critical Essays:
These are the "author" texts. Here you are going to look for info on:
1. Bio info on author
2. Historical Information
3. Other works by the author. Summarize other works done by this author
4. Critiques on his/ her works
5. What is this author best known for?
When doing this part I am going to require you to evidence your research with the following:
1. Handouts on your presentation
2. On the handout you will provide BIBLIOGRAPHICAL reference (in MLA format) of you research
3. Individually you will hand in:
a. summary of your part (whatever you were assigned in the group)
b. your evaluation/ reflection of your group work .
For example: How was it for you to work in this group? Did you find that it was divided well? What ddi you learn from your research?
Stories/Narratives
These are the texts "per se". These are those novels we will be reading:
1. Brief Plot summary
2. Social aspects surrounding the novel/ setting
3. How is it a coming age? What are those coming of age factors or characteristics present in the text? (STICK TO YOUR HALF!)
4. How does your text compare to or relate to the works previously read and discussed in class?
When doing this part I am going to require you to evidence your research with the following:
1. Handouts on your presentation
2. On the handout you will provide BIBLIOGRAPHICAL reference (in MLA format) of you research
3. You are to prepare a quizz for your group...yes you read me right! A QUIZZ!!
This quizz will be part of the class/participation grade of your classmates. It's must be worth at least 15 points and it must prove that your classmates read the text. I must have copy of this quiz prior to the class (the class prior to the one you will be giving your presentation. For example if you present Oct. 8 then I must have it Oct. 6) so that I can verify it, make any changes or suggestions I may find necessary and then print it out.
4. Individually I want your evaluation/ reflection of your group work .
